This historical landmark has been a beacon of community engagement for over a century, primarily focusing on educational programs and astronomy-related events organized by the Ballaarat Astronomical Society since 1958. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities, including telescope observations and interactive educational sessions led by resident astrophysicist Saeed Salimpour.

The observatory also features a stunning collection of stained-glass windows, each reflecting astronomical themes and showcasing the dedication of community donors.
