Banc de Sang

Banc de Sang is a public organization under the Department of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya. As the leading provider of blood and tissue services in Catalonia, we are dedicated to saving lives and improving healthcare. Through our extensive network of 12 hospitals and over 4,000 mobile collection centers, we collect blood donations that are vital for transfusions and treatments.

In addition, we play a crucial role in cellular and advanced therapies, serving as the platform for these innovative treatments in Catalonia. Our dedicated team processes donations from more than 1,000 tissue donors each year, ensuring that patients have access to life-saving therapies. We also facilitate the donation of umbilical cord blood, which can be used to save lives.

Furthermore, our milk bank provides vital nourishment to over 600 premature infants, thanks to the generous donations from more than 800 mothers.
