## Description

BanktheFood is a UK registered charity that helps food banks and food poverty organisations get the items they need to support their communities. Its free app connects donors with local food banks in real time, helping people see which supplies are most needed while they shop. This approach aims to reduce surpluses of less-needed goods and shortages of essential items, making donations more useful to the people who rely on them.

Food banks can register with BanktheFood to share their current needs with the community. Donors can download the app, check requests from nearby food banks and choose items that match those needs. The website also helps people find a local food bank and information about available support, while inviting supporters to get involved and subscribe to charity news.

BanktheFood provides app and technical support, along with channels for press and general enquiries. Through its services, the charity offers a practical way for shoppers to make informed donations and for food banks to communicate changing needs.
