## Description

Banned Books Week is an annual event that celebrates the freedom to read and promotes access to information. Supported by a coalition of organizations dedicated to free expression, the event aims to raise awareness about censorship and the importance of open access to literature. The coalition includes prominent organizations such as the American Booksellers for Free Expression, American Library Association, Amnesty International USA, and Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, among others.

Banned Books Week provides a platform for diverse voices and champions the value of free expression. Through a series of events and resources, the initiative encourages individuals to take action and defend books from censorship in their communities. The program features Let Freedom Read Day and highlights the Banned Books Week Program Kits, designed to support and promote the event.

Join the movement, celebrate freedom, and advocate for the right to read during Banned Books Week, taking place from October 1 to 7, 2023. Let's stand together in defense of intellectual freedom.
