## Description

Bar Blitz is an Amsterdam-based chess community that brings players together for casual, in-person tournaments in bars, cafés, festivals, and other distinctive city venues. Its events offer an approachable way to enjoy competitive chess, meet fellow players, and discover local gathering places through the game.

The programme includes both blitz and rapid tournaments, with formats ranging from short five-minute games to ten-minute rapid play. Events commonly use Swiss-system pairings and may feature multiple rounds; individual tournament details, schedules, venues, and available places are listed online. Locations include established cafés and bars, cultural venues, and public spaces around Amsterdam. Bar Blitz also shares tournament information for events organized by partners, including beginner-friendly rapid tournaments for players rated up to 1400 Elo.

Players can browse upcoming and past tournaments, filter listings by city or game format, and register to take part. The site also provides rankings and information about the organizers, alongside account access and published terms of service and privacy policy.
