## Description

Barcelona Capital Nàutica is a foundation dedicated to promoting sailing, maritime culture, and ocean sustainability in Barcelona and Catalonia. Its work combines sporting events with education, inclusion, innovation, and public engagement, helping build on the region’s long history of competitive sailing. The foundation supports and co-organizes regattas, including the Solo Med for Mini 6.50 boats, university radio-controlled sailing projects, and adapted sailing events such as the Kakapo Open Race. It has also facilitated major competitions, including Barcelona’s hosting of the 37th America’s Cup in 2024, and contributed to events for young sailors and international sailing classes.

Beyond competition, Barcelona Capital Nàutica develops educational and outreach activities, sustainability initiatives, and projects focused on the ocean economy and decarbonizing boats. Its cultural work includes podcasts and publications exploring the sea and maritime life. Through these programmes, the foundation connects sailors, students, communities, and visitors with the Mediterranean, while helping strengthen Barcelona’s profile as an international centre for sailing and nautical activity.
