## Description

Barnacle Press, established in 2005 by old friends Thrillmer and Holmes!, is a unique platform dedicated to celebrating the rich history of comics. The brand emerged from their shared passion for vintage comic strips, which they initially explored at the Chicago Public Library. Over the years, Barnacle Press has evolved, allowing readers to rediscover intriguing comics from the early 20th century, often bringing attention to the complexities of their historical context.

Offering a curated selection of digitized comics, Barnacle Press emphasizes transparency about the problematic elements found in their archives, acknowledging the racist and sexist undertones prevalent in many vintage works. While their focus remains on showcasing creativity and nostalgia, the brand is committed to responsibly navigating the uncomfortable truths of comic history.

In addition to their comic offerings, Thrillmer and Holmes! bring a diverse array of interests to the table, from punk rock to old-time radio, enriching the brand's personality and mission to honor the past while recognizing the importance of inclusivity and progress in the comic world.
