## Description

BAR Publishing is a prestigious independent publisher specializing in academic archaeology. With over 3,600 titles published, it is one of the largest and most respected publishers in the field. For over 40 years, BAR Publishing has been dedicated to bringing high-quality archaeological research from around the world to the academic community. The origins of BAR Publishing can be traced back to 1967, when Anthony Hands, David Walker, and Conant Brodribb encountered difficulties in finding a publisher for their excavation report on a Roman Villa. Recognizing the need for a specialist publisher to quickly disseminate excellent research, they established BAR Publishing with a vision of creating a lasting worldwide databank of archaeological knowledge. BAR Publishing prides itself on its international focus, actively seeking manuscripts from countries that were underrepresented in academic archaeology at the time. Manuscripts in English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian were published, making the knowledge accessible to a wider audience. Located in Oxford, England, BAR Publishing is managed by a dedicated team and operates an extensive network of sales agents worldwide. Their books are stocked by major libraries globally and are produced using state-of-the-art printing techniques to maintain affordable prices. The reputation and standing of BAR Publishing among the academic archaeological community are highly regarded. The company's British and International Series are considered essential resources by libraries and institutions, cementing its importance and influence in the field.
