## Description

Barrelhouse is an independent non-profit literary organization that aims to bridge the gap between serious art and pop culture. Produced by writers for readers, Barrelhouse offers a range of literary products and services. Their biannual print journal features fiction, poetry, interviews, and essays about music, art, and popular culture. Additionally, their website regularly posts new short fiction, nonfiction, poetry, interviews, and book reviews. Barrelhouse also operates as a small press, publishing approximately two books a year. Their editors produce the weekly podcast called Book Fight which explores books and writing. Notably, stories published in Barrelhouse have been featured in prestigious publications such as the Best American Nonrequired Reading and the Million Writer's Award. In addition, Barrelhouse supports the indie lit community through events like the Conversations and Connections Conference and the writer's retreat Writer Camp. They also offer 8-week online workshops for writers seeking feedback and support. Stay connected with Barrelhouse through their website, Twitter, and Facebook for all the latest updates and insights from the indie lit scene.
