## Description

The Base de Loisirs du Lac de Lavalette is a family recreation destination in Lapte, in France’s Haute-Loire region. Set beside a 220-hectare lake at an altitude of 820 metres, it offers outdoor activities in a natural setting, less than an hour from Saint-Étienne. Visitors can enjoy swimming, with free supervised bathing in July and August, and use the children’s outdoor play area. The watersports centre rents kayaks, paddleboards, giant paddleboards, electric boats, pedal boats, windsurfing and sailing equipment, including Optimists, catamarans and dinghies. Other options include fishing, outdoor activities, and organized courses, lessons and outings. The site also welcomes school groups, leisure centres, associations, businesses and other groups. Guests can bring a picnic to the shaded areas, which have tables and nearby facilities, or dine at Les Terrasses de Lavalette, the lakeside restaurant. The grounds are open year-round, while the watersports centre operates seasonally. The organization also provides practical visitor information, online reservations and gift vouchers.
