## Description

Basic Matte is a Norwegian mathematics learning platform developed by Kjetil Fagereng and operated by K28 Invest AS. It provides free learning resources for students from the first school year through upper secondary mathematics, including R2, as well as private candidates, adults, parents and teachers. Learners can explore step-by-step explanations, interactive examples and practice exercises at their own pace, with hints and feedback available to support independent problem-solving. Topics range from arithmetic, fractions, percentages and equations to geometry, statistics, measurement and upper-secondary subjects such as S1 and R2. The platform also offers a mathematics rulebook, Python-based activities, revision resources, articles and practical exam guides with printable worksheets. Users can start without creating an account, and progress is saved in the browser; a free account makes it possible to access progress across devices. Basic Matte includes resources for different grade levels and study needs, while features for parents and teachers support helping children or sharing classroom exercises. Its approach emphasizes trying, understanding the reasoning and practicing without ads or time pressure.
