## Description

Bataan Project is a historical and educational website dedicated to the American servicemen who fought in the Philippines during World War II and endured captivity as prisoners of war. Its materials focus especially on the Provisional Tank Group, including the 192nd and 194th Tank Battalions and the 17th Ordnance Company, as well as students and staff from Proviso Township High School who served in the war.

The site preserves and shares information through unit histories, individual biographies, rosters, documents, photographs, galleries, and video interviews. Visitors can explore accounts related to the Bataan Death March, surrender, wartime service, prisoner-of-war camps, and the experiences of veterans and their families. Resources include printable rosters, memorial and gravesite records, archival documents, drawings, and classroom WebQuests with student activities and teacher information. The collection also recognizes those who died during World War II and includes material on later memorials and commemorations. Created in 2000, Bataan Project serves as a tribute and research resource, helping readers learn about the people behind these military histories and remember their service and sacrifice.
