## Description

Batribox is a French eco-organisation specialising in the collection and recycling of used batteries and portable batteries. Founded in 1999 and approved by the French state, it helps businesses that place batteries on the market meet their extended producer responsibility obligations. Its support includes membership, market declarations, eco-contribution payments, regulatory guidance and tailored collection solutions.

Batribox works with businesses, individuals, local authorities, schools and associations, as well as organisations in industrial, mobility and energy sectors. It coordinates the collection, treatment and recycling of batteries at the end of their life, helping recover valuable materials and protect the environment and public health. Its services also promote eco-design, repair, reuse and everyday sorting habits.

For the public, Batribox provides a network of collection points and tools to help people find where to drop off used batteries. It supports local authorities with logistics, funding, training and fire-prevention guidance, and offers schools free educational resources and collection projects. Through awareness campaigns and solidarity initiatives, Batribox connects responsible battery management with a broader circular-economy effort.
