It promotes a modern view of the sector, its occupations and career opportunities, helping the public understand the industry’s contribution to Switzerland and its quality of life. Construction supports around 6% of the country’s GDP and brings together 327,000 employees and 25,000 apprentices across more than 50 occupations.

The initiative also helps construction businesses address skills shortages and attract suitable apprentices and professionals. Employers can receive coaching and develop their recruitment expertise, or delegate the search for emerging talent to bausinn.ch. Its work includes forward-looking projects that highlight innovation and good practice across the industry. The Bausinn Award, for example, has recognised companies for initiatives ranging from renovation and digital delivery solutions to photovoltaic education projects and workplace safety. Since 2021, bausinn.ch has opened its activities to companies and associations throughout construction and related fields, working with partners to support the future of Switzerland’s built environment.
