BBBS Washtenaw County has joined forces with BBBS of Metropolitan Detroit to create Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan. This exciting merger allows the organizations to triple the number of mentoring matches between adult volunteers (Bigs) and children (Littles) aged 8-18. With a four-county reach including Washtenaw, Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne, BBBS of Southeast Michigan will be able to provide even more programming and services to families and the community.

The vision and mission of empowering youth remain the same, with Jennifer Spitler, LMSW, serving as the President and CEO of the merged organization. This historic moment means that more young people waiting for a mentor will receive the support they need. Through professionally supported, one-to-one matches, BBBS of Southeast Michigan aims to help youth achieve their full potential.
