About BC Association of Clinical Counsellors

Description

Established in 1988, the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) is the leading professional association for clinical counsellors and psychotherapists in British Columbia. Our dedicated members hold the designation of Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), showcasing their fulfillment of rigorous educational and training criteria set by the BCACC. At BCACC, we have a two-fold mission.

Firstly, we provide recourse for clients who raise concerns about our members' adherence to our code of ethical conduct. Clients can reach out to us, and we will receive and investigate any complaints against our members. Secondly, we support our members in delivering safe, ethical, and effective therapy within their communities.

We achieve this by offering robust educational opportunities and promoting the culture of Clinical Supervision in the clinical counselling profession. With a vision of prioritizing mental health and well-being, our mission is to build a profession of accountable, well-resourced, and supported counsellors. Our values encompass professionalism, high standards, integrity, lifelong learning, collaboration, and social responsibility.

As we look toward the future, our strategic focus from 2023 to 2026 includes preparing our members for regulation under the new Health Professions and Occupations Act, working closely with the Ministry of Health to contribute to the Clinical Counselling regulatory process, and enhancing the governance and operations of the Association to become the premier mental health association in British Columbia. Join us at BCACC to benefit from our extensive resources, connect with skilled clinical counsellors, and contribute to the advancement of mental health in our province
