BC Association of Clinical Counsellors

BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) is the largest professional association for clinical counsellors and psychotherapists in BC, founded in 1988. Their members hold the designation of Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), indicating that they have met rigorous educational and training criteria set by BCACC. Moreover, RCCs have voluntarily committed to practice according to the association's ethical code of conduct and standards of practice.

BCACC's mission is to build the profession by supporting its members in providing safe, ethical, and effective therapy within their communities. They achieve this through offering robust educational opportunities and promoting the culture of Clinical Supervision. Additionally, BCACC serves as a recourse for clients who may have concerns about member conduct, investigating and addressing complaints accordingly.

Their vision is to make mental health and well-being a health priority, while their values encompass professionalism, integrity, lifelong learning, collaboration, accountability, ethics, fairness, respect, compassion, sensitivity, social responsibility, and diversity. BCACC's strategic focus for 2023-2026 is preparing their members for regulation under the new Health Professions and Occupations Act, becoming a premier mental health association in British Columbia, and enhancing governance and operations to fulfill their strategies effectively
