## Description

The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) offers the Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST®) certification, a credential designed to validate the expertise of professionals in the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) field. Established in 2016, the certification process was influenced by comprehensive studies to determine the competencies essential for safety technicians. Since 2018, BCRSP has been accepting applications from individuals who spend a significant portion of their career in OHS, ensuring that candidates meet both educational and experiential qualifications.

The CRST® credential supports professionals in creating safer work environments through effective OHS administrative processes, specialized training, and proactive risk management practices. It encompasses a diverse range of technical backgrounds, reflecting the various pathways individuals may take towards a career in safety. Additionally, BCRSP maintains a partnership with NEBOSH, facilitating a streamlined certification process for graduates of their OHS programs. By recognizing the value of certification, BCRSP enhances safety standards across Canadian workplaces.
