## Description

B-cycle is Australia's premier battery recycling scheme, dedicated to fostering a sustainable battery lifecycle from purchase to responsible disposal. Funded in part by importers and supported by the Australian Government, B-cycle brings together manufacturers, retailers, and consumers to ensure that used batteries are safely and effectively recycled rather than ending up in landfills. With approximately 90% of batteries currently discarded in this manner, B-cycle's initiative is crucial for protecting the environment from toxic leakage into soil and waterways.

The program provides a convenient network of drop-off points and enables participants, such as retailers and recyclers, to earn rebates by collecting and recycling batteries. By reusing valuable materials, B-cycle not only conserves natural resources but also strengthens Australia’s energy security and creates economic opportunities for the recycling industry. With accreditation by the Battery Stewardship Council and authorization from the ACCC, B-cycle is leading the charge towards a greener future, promoting responsible consumption, and championing battery safety across the nation.
