## Description

Bangladesh Economic Association (BEA) is a professional association focused on economics and political economy in Bangladesh. Its activities bring together members, researchers, policymakers, and others interested in economic and social issues. The association offers several membership categories, including life, general, associate, student, honorary, and institutional membership, with information and application options available through its website.

BEA supports discussion and knowledge-sharing through conferences, seminars, public lectures, and other events. Its programme includes the Biennial Conference, regional conferences, and activities such as an alternative budget conference. The association also publishes research and commentary, notably the Bangladesh Journal of Political Economy, alongside Samoyiki and conference and seminar papers. The journal features selected, reviewed work on subjects including inequality, agriculture, employment, development policy, poverty, microcredit, social change, and Bangladesh’s place in the global economy. Its publications are intended to inform researchers, educators, development organisations, analysts, and decision-makers. BEA’s website also provides notices, calls for papers, news, and photo and video galleries, helping members and the public follow its publications and events.
