## Description

The Beacon Society is a vibrant scion society of The Baker Street Irregulars (BSI), founded by Maribeau Briggs in 2003 with the mission to introduce young audiences to the enthralling world of Sherlock Holmes. By serving as a vital link between various Sherlockian societies, the Beacon Society empowers educators, librarians, and theater directors with innovative resources to bring the magic of Sherlock Holmes to life.

Dedicated to enhancing educational experiences, the Society recognizes exemplary initiatives through awards and grants, including the Susan Z. Diamond Beacon Award and the Jan Stauber Grant. Its programs are designed to encourage the enjoyment of reading and literature associated with Sherlock Holmes, enriching curricula at all educational levels—from elementary schools to universities.

The Beacon Society actively supports its members across the United States, providing a wealth of resources through its website, including project ideas and community engagement strategies. By fostering a passion for the works of Arthur Conan Doyle, the Beacon Society illuminates the literary landscape for the next generation of Sherlockians.
