## Description

Beaufort North Carolina History is an independent historical resource dedicated to preserving and sharing the past of Beaufort and the wider region. Compiled by Beaufort artist, researcher, historian, and author Mary Warshaw, the site has been researched since 2006 and contains more than 200 posts. It brings together historical writing and images, with articles exploring local people, places, events, and broader North Carolina history. Readers can search the blog by subject, browse older posts, and follow links to special pages. The material includes excerpts and historical context from primary sources, such as John Lawson’s 1709 account of Carolina, alongside topics including the Civil War and Beaufort landmarks such as the Hammock House. Rather than offering commercial products or services, the site provides an educational archive for readers interested in regional heritage, historical research, and the interpretation of documents from the past. Its accessible blog format helps visitors discover related stories and engage with the history of coastal North Carolina.
