## Description

Beaulieu Respite is a registered charity supporting disabled children and their families on the Isle of Wight. It raises funds to improve life at Beaulieu House in Newport, the island’s only overnight respite centre for disabled children. Although the council operates the facility, limited budgets cover only essential needs; Beaulieu Respite helps provide additional comforts, activities and equipment. Its members are unpaid volunteers, so funds raised go towards the children.

The charity supports projects that make the house feel more welcoming, including a sensory room with computerised features that also serves as a mini cinema, and a soft play building where children can play with friends. It also helps fund wheelchair-adapted minibuses for school transport, outings and appointments, as well as computers, tablets, toys, parties and outdoor equipment. Donations and legacy gifts help improve children’s quality of life and care. Beaulieu Respite also welcomes fundraising volunteers and encourages people interested in supporting its work to get in touch.
