## Description

Becoming Mums is a registered charity offering free, informal and friendly support for people who are pregnant or in the postpartum period. Made by mums, the organisation provides a welcoming space where parents and carers can connect, share experiences and feel less alone. Its inclusive use of the term “mum” includes people who have experienced pregnancy, given birth, identify as a mother or as a woman, or are non-binary carers.

Becoming Mums brings its community together through an online group and free in-person meetings in Reading, Berkshire. Support groups meet at Fairview Community Centre on the first Thursday of each month and at Hexham Road Community Centre on the third Friday. The organisation also offers free resources, articles, a podcast and movement invitations, alongside creative workshops and peer support. Its website features personal stories and information on topics related to pregnancy and parenthood, and visitors can contribute writing or find out about upcoming events.
