## Description

Beechwood Gardens is a historic event venue in Hyde Park, Sandton, offering a tranquil garden setting in the heart of Johannesburg. Laid out in 1945 by landscape architect Joane Pym, this three-and-a-half-acre property is known for its mature trees, including a colossal Water Oak believed to be the largest in Johannesburg. Christopher and Susan Greig have cared for and renewed the gardens since acquiring the property around 20 years ago.

The grounds combine a water garden with a water-lily lake, waterfalls and five ponds, a formal rose garden beside a colonnade, and a vegetable garden. Smooth connecting paths make the gardens wheelchair friendly. Beechwood Gardens hosts weddings, corporate functions, parties, photoshoots, baby and bridal showers, luncheons, year-end events and proposals. Guests can explore an online event estimator to create an estimate by selecting a venue, menu and finishing touches, or make a bespoke enquiry. With terraces, lawns, planting and water features, the venue offers a distinctive outdoor backdrop for celebrations and gatherings.
