## Description

Kinderboerderij De Beekdalhoeve is a community children’s farm in the Marsdijk neighbourhood of Assen, run by Stichting Kinderboerderij De Beekdalhoeve volunteers and staff from Schouder aan Schouder. It welcomes visitors of all ages to meet and learn about a variety of animals, including Shetland ponies, sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, geese and parakeets. Many animals enjoy being petted, while staff provide guidance on safe feeding and care.

The farm hosts activities and events throughout the year, including celebrations such as Animal Day and Sinterklaas. Its grounds feature a flower-picking garden, butterfly garden, vegetable garden and play areas for children, as well as seating where visitors can relax. The on-site shop sells items such as eggs, hay, honey and decorations, with proceeds supporting the farm. De Beekdalhoeve also offers temporary holiday boarding for rabbits, guinea pigs and other rodents. The organization welcomes volunteers, donations and sponsors to help sustain its community-focused work.
