## Description

Before It’s Too Late (BITL) is a nonprofit climate action prototyping lab founded out of MIT and based in Miami, Florida. The organization uses arts, technology, and science to educate and inspire people to help build a more sustainable world. Its work addresses the challenge of making climate change feel immediate and relevant, bringing research and creative experiences together to encourage public engagement and action.

BITL partners with artists to create murals, storytelling projects, and other experiences designed to connect with audiences and shift perspectives. It also uses technologies such as virtual and augmented reality, simulations, data, and interactive elements to communicate climate issues and possible solutions. In collaboration with MIT and other research institutions, the organization draws on insights related to climate, design, solutions, and behavior. Its projects include murals at locations such as South Pointe Elementary School in Miami Beach and Bronzeville in Chicago, as well as the “Anthropocene Extinction” experience.
