It consists of six houses that are open to different populations in Israeli society. Each house provides a social and educational framework where individuals experience a variety of life skills and interpersonal interactions. House of Wheels offers a continuous framework from the age of 9, through adolescence and adulthood, with a range of programs and activities aimed at acquiring social skills and promoting social and civic participation in all spheres of society. With the guidance of a dedicated team of volunteers and professional staff, our young participants engage in diverse social activities, including summer camps, workshops, weekend activities, enrichment programs, and art, music, journalism, communication, dance, cooking, and sports classes. We teach our participants responsibility, independence, leadership, and initiative to help them face challenges and overcome obstacles in their lives. Together, we create a warm, loving, supportive, and inclusive second home characterized by a sense of family, creativity, acceptance, friendship, partnership, autonomy, self-fulfillment, and boundary-breaking. We encourage our graduates to integrate into the association as guides, assistants, and members of the board, serving as models and examples for younger participants. The vision of House of Wheels is to be a social meeting place for young people with physical disabilities and volunteers from all parts of society. It aims to provide an equal and continuous group framework that promotes autonomy while fostering civic participation and creating equal opportunities. With a mission to provide a supportive response to the families, cultivate leadership skills among young people with disabilities, and offer unique support for both inclusive and special education children. House of Wheels strives to achieve its goals by promoting a meaningful and significant social and educational framework and by building financial and organizational resilience. It aims to reach all sectors of Israeli society and establish collaborations between sectors to promote its vision.
