## Description

Beleghebammen UKA is a team of independent midwives working at University Hospital Augsburg, supporting families before, during and after childbirth. Their care is tailored to each woman and family, with a focus on personal guidance and the safety of a Level 1 perinatal centre. The team supports routine pregnancies and births as well as high-risk cases, working closely with hospital specialists in areas including gynaecology, paediatrics and anaesthesiology.

Expectant parents can arrange a birth-planning appointment from around the 30th week of pregnancy and attend monthly information evenings about pregnancy and childbirth. During labour, the midwives provide birth support and offer a broad range of additional options, including medication-based and alternative pain relief, massage, foot reflexology, acupuncture, K-Taping, aromatherapy, homeopathic and other natural approaches, soft laser therapy, relaxation baths and breastfeeding advice.

After birth, the team supports families in the delivery room during the first hours, emphasizing bonding and the first feeding. Mother and baby then receive ongoing care on the hospital’s family ward, with family and individual rooms available.
