## Description

Belfast Mela, a leading arts festival in Northern Ireland, celebrates cultural diversity with a vibrant showcase of music, dance, arts, and global cuisine. Founded in 2007 by Nisha Tandon under the auspices of the award-winning cultural organization ArtsEkta, this annual event has rapidly grown to attract up to 60,000 visitors each August. The term "Mela," meaning "to meet" in Sanskrit, embodies the festival's spirit of unity and inclusivity, offering a shared platform for communities to express their unique cultural identities.

The festival features a range of activities, including the Mela Carnival, World Stage performances, and the Mela Bazaar, where attendees can immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of cultures present in Northern Ireland. Additionally, the festival emphasizes collaborative projects that foster intercultural relationships within the community. By engaging audiences with the sights, sounds, and tastes of diverse global cultures, Belfast Mela transforms the city into a lively carnival atmosphere, inviting everyone to partake in this extraordinary celebration.
