## Description

Belfast Street Names is an information website dedicated to documenting the names of streets across Belfast, covering areas within the BT1 to BT17 postcode range. It helps visitors explore the stories behind local street names, bringing together details about when a name first appeared or came into use, who developed a street where that information is known, and why the name was chosen. Visitors can search for a street by entering its name, browse a full list of streets, and consult supporting sources and acknowledgements. The site also publishes blog content and provides information about the project through its About and Contact pages. Belfast Street Names describes its collection as a work in progress and invites users to report information that is incomplete or incorrect, supporting the ongoing improvement of its records. The website lists Registered Charity Number NIC 110223 and provides contact details in Belfast. Its purpose is to make information about the city’s street names accessible and useful to residents, researchers, and anyone interested in Belfast’s local history.
