## Description

Jean-Claude Belfiore is a French author and historian whose work reflects a longstanding interest in both history and storytelling. Born in Nantes to an Armenian mother and a Sicilian Italian father, he studied at Lycée Clemenceau and the Faculty of Letters in Nantes before continuing his education at the University of Haute-Bretagne in Rennes. He later taught at the University of Bari in Italy before settling in France.

Belfiore published his first detective novel in 1984, then turned from crime fiction to historical writing, with a particular focus on classical antiquity. His publications include historical books as well as fiction, and his website presents material across mythology, history, and other subjects. He has written for Historia magazine and contributes to Les Cahiers de Science & Vie. The site also provides information about his background and latest publications, offering readers an overview of his writing and areas of interest. Belfiore’s work brings together literary imagination and research into the past for readers drawn to history, mythology, and fiction.
