## Description

The Belfry Theatre is a renowned professional adult theatre company that has been producing plays since 1976. With a strong dedication to contemporary plays, particularly Canadian work, the Belfry has become a significant cultural and artistic resource in the Greater Victoria Region. Over the years, the theatre company has staged a remarkable 330 plays, including 238 Canadian plays and more than 50 premieres. Many of these premieres have achieved success not only across Canada but also in the U.S., Australia, Europe, and London's West End. The Belfry is committed to generating ideas and dialogue through its productions, encouraging audiences to see the world from new and unique perspectives. With up to 12 plays per year, including summer productions, a Mainstage series, and the innovative SPARK Festival, the Belfry aims to engage and inspire audiences with its diverse range of theatrical experiences. Housed in a beautifully restored heritage building, the Belfry is also actively involved in supporting and nurturing local artists, promoting cultural diversity, and developing new works through commissions, dramaturgy, workshops, readings, and first productions.
