About
Description
BHCA, the Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association, is an organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history and cultural heritage of Bellefonte. Founded in the mid-1960s, BHCA was formed by a group of newcomers who quickly recognized the historical significance and architectural beauty of Bellefonte. Their passion led to the creation of the Talleyrand Park Committee in 1974, which laid the foundation for the present-day park architecture.
Over the years, BHCA expanded its vision to encompass a wide range of artistic pursuits, including visual arts, performance, and history. It serves as an umbrella organization, bringing together various committees and projects that aim to foster the spirit of Bellefonte. From theatrical productions by The Project for the Performing Arts to events like the Film Forum and the Old House Fair, BHCA offers a diverse range of cultural experiences for people from all walks of life.
With its tax-exempt status and years of experience, BHCA continues to be a driving force in promoting and sharing the unique heritage of Bellefonte. Each BHCA-sponsored event is aimed at bringing the spirit of Bellefonte to life, ensuring that the borough's history and culture remain vibrant and accessible for generations to come
