BEMA Discipleship is a brand centered around the mission of loving God, loving others, and becoming people of the Text. Their name, BEMA, comes from a Hebrew word that refers to the elevated platform where the people of God read the Text in first-century synagogues. Inspired by the early church, BEMA Discipleship aims to recapture the essence of their devotion and commitment. One of the key pillars of BEMA Discipleship is understanding and teaching the Word of God. They believe that by delving deep into the Scriptures, just as the people of Jesus's time did, we can find revolutionary ways to apply the teachings to our lives. BEMA also emphasizes the importance of telling a different story with our actions and demonstrating an intense love for God. To achieve their objectives, BEMA offers a multi-faceted program that includes a podcast where they deconstruct the Scriptures, encourage intentional community, and teach the discipleship approach modeled by Jesus in the Text. They also provide study tours to Israel and Turkey, allowing participants to experience the rich historical and cultural context firsthand. BEMA Discipleship is committed to creating a space for learning, growth, and experimentation. They foster an environment where asking questions is incentivized, and they invite God to fill that space in the way He desires. The BEMA Podcast consists of several sessions, each focusing on a different aspect of Scripture and the early church. BEMA Discipleship is a ministry of Impact Campus Ministries, created by Marty, a former campus minister, who wanted to guide students through discipleship using methods aligned with those of Jesus and other Jewish teachers from the first century.
