Founded by local businessman and crofter Angus MacMillan, the distillery grew from a long-held ambition to support economic opportunity and community life in the islands. Whisky is being made on the Uists for the first time, using handmade copper pot stills housed in a glass-walled extension inspired by a lighthouse.
