## Description

Bergen Judoklubb is a judo club founded in 1962, making it Norway’s second-oldest judo club. Its guiding spirit, “Strength Through Community,” reflects a welcoming approach to learning and training. The club introduces members to judo, a Japanese full-contact martial art developed by Jigoro Kano in 1882. Judo combines physical ability, technical skill, strategy, and mental discipline, using throws, holds, and control techniques rather than punches or kicks. Training moves from standing techniques to groundwork and emphasizes balance, respect, concentration, and using an opponent’s force effectively.

Bergen Judoklubb offers classes and beginner courses for children, young people, juniors, seniors, and women. Its website provides information about training schedules, prices, membership, coaches, grading, and club activities. Members can also find details about equipment and merchandise, financial support, and an activity card. The club highlights judo’s benefits for self-defense, full-body fitness, flexibility, endurance, discipline, focus, and confidence. With guidance for newcomers and information about its training groups, Bergen Judoklubb supports people interested in discovering judo and developing their skills.
