## Description

The Berkeley Journal of Sociology (BJS) is a pioneering platform dedicated to public sociology, aiming to bridge the gap between academic research and the wider community. Established in 1955, BJS showcases the work of emerging scholars and seasoned sociologists, including notable figures such as C. Wright Mills and Pierre Bourdieu. This inclusive journal is managed by a diverse group of graduate students from the UC Berkeley Department of Sociology, who emphasize the relevance of sociological inquiry to pressing societal issues.

With a commitment to innovative communication, BJS utilizes various media, including print, documentaries, and digital content, to disseminate sociological insights. It encourages contributions from a wide range of voices—artists, activists, and journalists—ensuring a rich dialogue about social problems and community engagement. In its relaunch, BJS aspires to challenge conventional boundaries in sociology and actively advocate for positive societal change. Stay connected with their work through social media platforms and consider supporting their mission through subscriptions and donations.
