## Description

Residencia Berllor is a residential care home and day centre for older people in Badalona, Catalonia. After 21 years of management, the organisation began evolving its care model in 2023, placing personal choice, autonomy and quality of life at its heart. It offers residential support on a temporary or permanent basis, alongside comprehensive care for older people who need assistance. Its day centre complements support from families, helping maintain personal and social independence, supporting people in their familiar surroundings, and providing families with assistance in caring for loved ones.

The centre brings together five distinct living units designed to foster a sense of home, neighbourhood and community. Its approach is informed by IFEELelMétodo, a care methodology that takes account of each person’s life stage, preferences and interests. Berllor’s multidisciplinary team aims to support self-determination and empower older people to shape their daily lives. The organisation also offers facilities and services for residents and day-centre users, and operates as a collaborating centre with Catalonia’s Department of Social Welfare and Family.
