## Description

The Newport Bermuda Race is a biennial offshore sailing competition covering 636 miles from Newport, Rhode Island, to Bermuda. Organized by the Bermuda Race Foundation and its committee, the race brings together sailors for a demanding ocean passage and is supported by a long history, established traditions, and a focus on preparation and safety. The organization provides information and resources for both experienced competitors and people considering their first race, including entry guidance, safety equipment requirements, inspection preparation, medical resources, crew-finding support, and seminars. Competitors can also access practical advice on logistics, weather, the Gulf Stream, navigation, and marine life protection. The race’s website offers notices, results, bulletins, calendars, archives, prize and trophy information, and details about sponsors and race events. Supporters and followers can follow the competition through news, live shows, photos, videos, newsletters, and race updates. The Bermuda Race Foundation also promotes sustainability and offers ways to learn about the race’s heritage, its sailors, and the experience of crossing the Atlantic to Bermuda.
