## Description

Anthropos Betreuungsverein Stuttgart e.V. is a non-denominational, professional support organisation founded in 2012. Based at Eugensplatz in Stuttgart, it assists adults who, because of mental, emotional or physical impairments, can no longer manage their affairs independently. The organisation places each person’s wishes and preferences at the centre of its work, promoting independent living and providing representation in legal and other matters.

Anthropos offers both professional guardianship through employed staff and guidance for volunteer legal guardians. Volunteers receive personal advice, training, ongoing support, opportunities to share experience, insurance cover and a statutory annual expense allowance. The association also offers tandem arrangements with family members and support with guardianship responsibilities such as applications, financial administration and coordinating services.

For people planning ahead, Anthropos provides advice on powers of attorney and advance healthcare directives, helps prepare these documents and can register them with Germany’s Central Register of Lasting Powers of Attorney. Its free smartphone app provides guardians with tips, appointments, news, forms and legal updates.
