Bettencourt Farms is a renowned brand with a rich history in farming that spans over a century. Founded in 1905 by Manuel Bettencourt, an immigrant from the Azores, the farm started as a dairy farm spread across approximately 22 acres in Warren, RI. Over the years, the business passed down through generations, with Frank Bettencourt taking over in the 1950s and later passing it to his brother Alfred in 1967.

Alfred, alongside his son Alfred Jr., transformed the farm into a thriving vegetable farm. Despite facing challenges, such as the Bristol County Water Works acquiring 7 acres of the land in 1995, the farm persevered. Alfred's passing in 2007 led to ownership reverting back to the family, which comprises of 13 individual families.

Additionally, the family operated a roadside stand in Swansea, MA for over 30 years. Today, Alfred Jr. They have an honor stand at their home and are also participating in the Burrillville Farmer's Market.
