## Description

BetterPuck is a platform for organized, on-demand pickup hockey, designed for adults who want to play without the demands of a seasonal league or the uncertainty of traditional shinny. Through its app, players can browse games, invite friends, save nearby rinks, and choose to play solo, with a group, or in a fully private game. BetterPuck says it provides two goalies and a referee for its games; when a suitable game is not available, players can join a matchmaking queue.

The service also creates opportunities for goalies and referees. Goalies can earn money while playing, including in games with friends, while referees can earn cash or game credits to play for free. Rink operators can partner with BetterPuck to help fill unused ice, including off-hours. Rinks pay nothing for the service, and BetterPuck rents the ice once a game is filled. Players use the app to find games, while goalies and referees set up profiles and follow the in-app steps.
