Betty Fitzgerald, born in Winchester, Kentucky in 1926, and Davis Fitzgerald, born in Atlanta in 1922, both had successful careers before establishing the Foundation.

Betty, a graduate of Duke University, began working in Atlanta in 1948, while Davis, a proud Georgia Tech graduate, served in the Navy before taking a job at Trust Company of Georgia. Serving the Metro Atlanta and Georgia areas, the Foundation focuses on providing support and resources to enhance education and healthcare services. By championing these causes, the Betty and Davis Fitzgerald Foundation strives to better the lives of individuals and communities, leaving a lasting, positive impact
