## Description

Bevrijdingsfestival Groningen is a public festival held annually on 5 May at the Drafbaan in Groningen, bringing people together to commemorate liberation and celebrate freedom. The event centres on freedom, inclusion, diversity, solidarity and tolerance, using music, art and culture to share these themes with a broad audience. Its programme features multiple stages and a varied line-up of performers, alongside activities such as the House of Freedom, a Freedom Meal, a Kids Area and MENA is Vrij. Festival highlights also include the traditional moment of lighting the Freedom Fire, with contributions from artists and community figures.

In addition to presenting the festival, the organisation shares practical visitor information, including schedules, maps, travel and accessibility guidance, house rules and frequently asked questions. It also publishes festival news and photographs, and offers opportunities for individuals and clubs or associations to volunteer as part of the event crew. Businesses and organisations can explore sponsorship opportunities and partnerships.
