## Description

Experience the transformative power of research and community in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health's Beyond Disasters program. Led by Professor Lisa Gibbs, this program focuses on long-term community recovery and resilience after disasters, starting with the groundbreaking Beyond Bushfires study. Beyond Disasters has since grown to encompass various projects in disaster resilience and recovery research, including areas like children and schools, program evaluations, democracy and community engagement, and COVID-19 research. Their work also addresses the impacts of multiple disasters and the recovery capitals needed for a resilient future. The program collaborates with experts from diverse backgrounds and incorporates the rich knowledge and healing practices of First Nations communities. By promoting genuine and respectful collaborations, Beyond Disasters strives to create a more just, healthy, and sustainable future for all. Follow them on Facebook and Twitter to stay updated on their research. For inquiries, reach out to Professor Lisa Gibbs.
