## Description

BEYOND Maps is a free 3D mapping platform for off-piste skiing, snowboarding and ski touring in the Alps, created by snowboarders Ziggy Triou and Luuk van der Poel. It runs in a web browser without installation or an account, bringing terrain, lifts and pistes together to help riders plan and assess routes. Map layers include slope angle, aspect, sun and shadow, snow and weather information, protected areas, and today’s and tomorrow’s avalanche danger from European warning services. Users can draw touring routes, view estimated tour times and steep sections, and run the SLABS avalanche-terrain analysis. Areas can also be downloaded for offline use as a 3D model, HTML page or map image. The service covers the Alps from Nice to Salzburg, with regional bulletin pages for Switzerland, Tyrol and France. BEYOND is free for riders and supported through partnerships with ski areas, regions and brands. The team also offers resorts the option to display lifts, pistes, slope information and bulletins on their own websites.
