The Behavior Genetics Association (BGA) is an international society dedicated to advancing research on the connections between heredity and behavior in both humans and animals. With a strong focus on twin and family study designs, as well as gene-finding studies, the BGA strives to promote the scientific understanding of the interrelationship between genetic mechanisms and behavior. Founded in 1970, the BGA aims to encourage education and training in the field of behavior genetics, while also disseminating knowledge to the general public about the implications of genetics and behavior for health, human development, and education.
