Founded by Rhoda Tomasco, the foundation aims to bring joy and happiness to children battling cancer. Recognizing the toll that cancer takes on young patients, Tomasco decided to provide a much-needed break from hospital treatments and bring them into the sunshine. What started as a small ski trip for 10 kids in Winter Park, Colorado, quickly grew into a nationwide initiative.

The foundation now organizes various free programs and events for children undergoing cancer treatment in hospitals throughout North America. By offering positive group activities and emotional support, the Sunshine Kids Foundation strives to create lasting memories and provide a sense of normalcy during a difficult time.
