Biafran War Memories is a poignant digital archive dedicated to preserving personal stories and first-hand accounts from the 1967-1970 Nigerian Civil War, commonly referred to as the Biafran War. Founded by Nigerian-American journalist Chika Oduah, the project seeks to illuminate this often-overlooked chapter of Nigerian history that has deeply influenced her identity and experience. Through interviews and photography, Oduah captures the resilience and complexities of those who lived through this tumultuous period.

The archive features reformatted transcriptions of recorded interviews, showcasing the narratives of survivors who share their harrowing yet hopeful tales of survival amid adversity. Each story, presented in its original vernacular where applicable, serves as a vital contribution to understanding a significant historical event that has shaped Nigeria's cultural landscape. The ongoing project invites those with memories of the war to connect, ensuring that these essential stories continue to resonate and educate future generations.
